Rose Ann's Story
Life
Biographies are difficult...but I lived in Houston all my life, attending St. Christophers for elementary and one year at Hartman Jr. HIgh. Then on to Austin instead of Milby so I could be in the Scottish Brigade. Dad would drop me off each morn on the way to work downtown. Sometimes I rode the city bus home and it dropped us off on Reville by Hereford St. Atended Texas A & I for 3 years and finished up at Sam Houston. Majored in Speech, Drama and English, Education. Taught school for 8 years but felt like I needed to be out..Went into Healthcare Marketing and stayed for 15 years. My goal to train and speak came 5 years ago as I became a Corporate trainer for Tenet Healthsystem. I had 6 hospitals.
The department closed and I landed at Park Plaza Hospital downtown until April 2,2004 when there was a lay off. In 1971, I was married to Bubba Couvillon. He graduated from Mt. Carmel..then in '92 we were divorced. With four awesome sons, I remarried in '94 to Luster Martin, an Oklahoma guy.(OU). We all live out in Kingwood. ( for 27 years)The boys Dad and I are good friends. The boys range from 30 to 22. After May, 16th one is left in College, he is...Expand for more
at Texas Tech. The boys were athletes so I was a soccer and baseball Mom, 3 attending college on athletic scholarships. A granddaughter from my #1 son and 3 grandchildren in Ok. from 2 stepsons. MY Mom and Dad both passed away in '75. It was unfortunate..and I still miss them. So Houston has been my home all these years. God has been good to all of us. It's amazing how our class has stayed in touch and that shows you the era...the closeness of you guys and the best times of our life. My #2 son came to the last reunion to work for us and he was amazed how we all just immediately regressed. It was wonderful. It brings back good memories. So, that's it in a nutshell. I will most likely train and speak on my own and make my brother eat those 'famous words"...'You're majoring in Speech --what are ya gona do with that"? What does he know, he went to Milby......
Happiness is a choice. We are all free to make those decisions. I certainly hope it has been yours.
My sons, Daymon,Jared,Marc and Clay Couvillon are awesome and I hope they can be a fly on the wall at the next reunion, to see how to really have fun. Cheers to all and friends forever........Rose Ann
